The Yellow Fever Certificate Explained: What It Is and Why It Matters at the Border

The ICVP is the only accepted proof of Yellow Fever vaccination at international borders.

Your ICVP is completed and issued on the same day as your vaccination. Bring your passport, it is required to complete the certificate accurately. The certificate becomes valid 10 days after vaccination and is recognised as providing lifelong protection under current WHO guidance. Arriving at a border without a valid ICVP may result in refused entry, port-of-entry vaccination, or quarantine.

Book at least 10 days before departure and note that Yellow Fever vaccine is held in stock on-site at all times.

Yes. Under current WHO guidelines and International Health Regulations, ICVP certificates issued at any point in your lifetime remain valid for life. If you are in any doubt, bring your certificate to the clinic and we will confirm its status.

This depends on the country and transit time. Some nations require an ICVP for any transit through endemic areas. Verify all itinerary stops on TravelHealthPro.

Medway Travel Clinic does not vaccinate patients 60 or older due to increased risks. If your destination requires a certificate and you are over 60, please contact us for advice before booking.

Medical exemption certificates may be available if you are unable to receive the vaccine. Discuss this during your appointment for advice on next steps and appropriate referral options.
