Vaqta offers adult and child versions, with a booster 6–18 months later. Please alert us if you have a severe latex allergy, as our syringes contain latex.
Side effects are generally mild, like soreness or fatigue, and fade within a day or two. Please mention any allergies or health history to your clinician beforehand.

A two-dose course is typically required: one for immediate protection and a booster 6–12 months later for up to 25 years of coverage. We provide boosters at our Chatham clinic even if your first dose was administered elsewhere.
Each dose costs £50. The initial dose is £50, and the booster is a further £50, bringing the full two-dose course to £100. No separate consultation fee applies when the vaccine is administered on the day.

Yes, but it depends on the vaccine brand. Havrix and Avaxim are contraindicated in patients with PKU. VAQTA is a good substitute, and we have it in our clinic. When you book, please let the pharmacist know so that the correct product can be prepared in advance.
Inactivated vaccines (Havrix, Vaqta, and Avaxim) are generally considered safe during pregnancy. Use is determined by a risk-benefit assessment, which your clinician will discuss during your appointment.
