Recommended vaccines : Chikungunya, Hepatitis A, Typhoid, Rabies, Japanese Encephalitis
Chikungunya spreads through daytime mosquito bites. It’s not contagious between people, so you need to focus on mosquito protection rather than just standard evening precautions.
Expect sudden high fever and intense, persistent joint pain. Unlike other illnesses, this joint pain is the main symptom and can sometimes last for months or even years.
Both vaccines recommended for endemic region travellers, age and eligibility assessed at every appointment.

There is one pharmacy here, some very odd opening hours and long lunch break, some parking spaces behind at £2:40 minimum for first hour, if no spaces "walk the gauntlet" through Chatham High Street to get there!!
We provide two options: IXCHIQ for adults aged 18–59 without contraindications, and Vimkunya for anyone aged 12 and over, including those 60+. Your clinician will determine the best vaccine for you based on age, health, and other scheduled vaccinations.
The Chikungunya vaccine is priced at £190. No separate consultation fee applies when the vaccine is administered on the day of your appointment.
No. Lack of safety data means IXCHIQ and Vimkunya cannot be co-administered. Your pharmacist will schedule separate appointments for multiple vaccines.
IXCHIQ requires a 4-week wait before blood donation. If donating sooner, inform your pharmacist; Vimkunya may be an alternative, or IXCHIQ can be timed around your donation.
Yes, but only with Vimkunya. IXCHIQ is not licensed for those aged 60+ due to higher adverse event risks. Vimkunya is our clinic’s appropriate alternative for this age group.
Both are spread by Aedes mosquitoes during the day. Chikungunya causes long-term joint pain, while Dengue often results in intense headaches and eye pain. Each requires specific prevention strategies.
